Description
Dermomax Anesthetic Cream 40G
Indication: Dermomax is indicated for the temporary relief of pain associated with small cuts and abrasions of the skin that only affect the epidermis (the most superficial layer of the skin); minor burns (1st degree) including those caused by sunlight; minor irritations and insect bites. It can be applied before injectable procedures such as venipuncture, intradermal, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections in adults and children, as well as before laser treatments on the skin.
Dosage: A thick layer of Dermomax should be applied to the intact skin or around the cut. A single application of Dermomax to children under 10 kg should not cover an area larger than 100 cm2. A single application of this medication to children weighing between 10 kg and 20 kg should not cover an area larger than 200 cm2. The interval between applications and the duration of treatment is at the doctor’s discretion. However, it is advisable to observe the minimum interval between doses, in children, which is 8 hours.
When should I not use this medication: Dermomax is contraindicated for patients with a known history of sensitivity to local anesthetics of the amide type, or to any other components of the medication. This medication is not recommended for any clinical condition in which penetration to the inner part of the ear may occur due to the risk of local toxicity, as observed in studies or migration beyond the tympanic membrane in the middle ear, because of the ototoxic effects observed in studies with animals.
