Description

Pyruvic acid is an alpha-keto acid. It is found in honey, vinegar, apples and fermented fruits and has epidermal and dermal effects. At the epidermal level, it has keratolytic and antibacterial properties and is very effective in the treatment of acne. It reduces the cohesion of keratinocytes in the epidermis and prevents the thickening of the upper layers of the epidermis.
