Trace Monotype Workshop with Artist-in-Residence Jewelya Coffey

Artist In Residence
Program Description

In this workshop, LUX Artist-in-Residence Jewelya Coffey will teach the basics of creating trace monotypes, a process she uses regularly to begin a drawing. A trace monotype is a printmaking process that involves drawing on paper laid over an inked plate. The pressure of the pencil transfers ink to the paper, creating a unique print. These specific monotypes will be used with oil paint, which makes it a print, painting, and drawing all in one. Coffey's process incorporates many layers as well as colored pencils on top.  All materials are provided.  This workshop is for Adults 16+

Pre-registration required.

NOTE:
An art class or workshop running is contingent on a minimum of 3 participants being enrolled 48 hours prior to the scheduled class/workshop. Cancellation notices will be emailed, and you may respond with an alternate class/workshop choice or request a refund. You’re encouraged to invite a friend to ensure that your class/workshop runs.
